There are many great things about my job but one of them is the Federal Holidays, if the Federal Reserve is closed - we are closed. This week was one of those times, Veterans Day a great day to honor those who have served, are serving, and who have died for our freedoms.
One of our Branch's is at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, it is an honor to walk through those halls and shake Veterans hands on the way to our branch. I feel like I have the opportunity since I visit the branch at least weekly to be reminded how blessed we are that we have men and women that are willing to fight for our freedoms. Not to mention the families of these courageous men and women.
I enjoy these random days off, even though my job is pretty much on my mind 24/7. Yesterday I played golf with my brother, Henry. He is a member of Oak Tree, which is a beautiful course and for mid-November the weather was amazing! I am so thankful for being able to enjoy these days because even though my job maybe on my mind 24/7, those soldiers that are fighting for my freedom are living it 24/7 and that is a big difference. I just want to say THANK YOU TO THESE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN!!!
Next time you see a soldier when you are out, remember to tell them how much you appreciate them and their service to our great country!!!

So, SO true! THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteOne of my best friends is an "Army wife"- her husband is about to go overseas for the second time. My sister is an "Air Force wife" as well. Between the two, it's really helped me realize just how much these individuals and their families sacrifice for our country!!! "Freedom isn't FREE!" These individuals and their families are incredible. THANK YOU!!!!
Great post Tim and I agree with you in every way these people are putting on the line for the rest of us. We owe them our greatest respect and Honor.

I'm glad you had some free time - it's hard to justify those little breaks when work gets crazy. But, I'm a much better employee when I have some time off!
